Collection: Matcha Powder & BlendsCeremonial grade from Japan

Matcha powder is where NEOSOCIETY began. Before there was a store, there was the Matcha Bar, and matcha is still at the heart of our selection today. Our ceremonial grade matcha comes from a farm in Kagoshima in the south of Japan and tastes mild and slightly sweet. For the blends, we chose recipes that pair matcha with plants, mushrooms and spices you rarely find in a tin.

What makes good ceremonial grade matcha

Ceremonial grade stands for matcha that is drunk pure, with water. That takes a finely ground powder, a bright green colour and a flavour that is rounded rather than bitter. Good matcha smells fresh and grassy and leaves a soft, lasting finish. This is exactly what we look for when we choose. We want to know which farm the matcha grows on and which tea cultivars it comes from.

Matcha is traditionally prepared with water that is no longer boiling and a bamboo whisk, until a fine foam forms. Add oat or cow's milk and it becomes a latte. Everything you need for this is in Matcha Accessories. How we prepare matcha at our bar is shown on Matcha in Munich.

The blends are for anyone who wants to expand their matcha ritual. They combine matcha with ingredients such as reishi, passionflower or Bourbon vanilla, some with blue spirulina, which gives the blend its colour.
